Screen captures added for episode 13 “Thanksgiving” from “Friday Night Lights“.
TV Guide Magazine’s Matt Roush gives his opinion on ‘Friday Night Light’s’ finale “Thanksgiving”. This article includes Jeremy’s character J.D. McCoy from TV Guide reader Keira. Not word yet if he will return for the final season.
My only major disappointment with season four is that J.D. McCoy was just a one-note villain. I became very invested in his character in season three when we were introduced to this nice, innocent kid under a huge amount of pressure. While I can understand how he’d let it go to his head with so many people worshipping him, I really hoped they’d dig deeper into his character. Jeremy Sumpter is such an appealing actor and it was a shame he was so utterly wasted this season. I certainly would have liked to have seen more of him and less of Becky. Nothing against the actress, but she got an awful lot of face time this season for someone who (strangely) wasn’t even a regular. I understand the focus this season was squarely on East Dillon, but J.D. was one character I really wish hadn’t fallen by the wayside. (Of course, I still wish Santiago hadn’t disappeared without a trace after season two!) Still, it was a terrific season overall and I’m very much looking forward to season five. So glad DirecTV saved this show.—Keira Continue…
The underdog East Dillon Lions are victorious over the West Dillon Panthers. Did anyone enjoy watching J.D. throw his tantrum? A full review to be posted soon about the game itself. We hope to see J.D. return next season which may not return until 2011. Season four will air again starting April 30th.
The finale, episode 13 “Thanksgiving” of Friday Night Lights airs tonight only on DirecTV channel 101 at 9 PM (EST). Be sure to tune in to find out who the victorious will be. The West Dillon Panthers (lead by J.D. McCoy) or the East Dillon Lions?
This episode had all the makings of being great except for one primary event…the actual football game between the Panthers and the Lions. What showed high expecations to be an intense game fell to small town events as the Lions and Panthers played “pranks” against one another.
Jeremy’s character J.D. McCoy showed very little appearance in this episode. Let us hope that is not the case in the season finale.
Here is the synopsis for the finale of this season.
The Taylors host Thanksgiving dinner. Elsewhere, Eric advises Vince to act more selfishly; a visitor surprises Julie and Landry; Tim makes a tough call; and East Dillon shows support for the Lions.
Any doubts that the Panthers won’t win….we have none. GO PANTHERS! (Sorry Coach Taylor)
Although no spoilers about the winning team has been given for Wednesday’s game with the Panthers verses the Lions, there is little doubt that the notorious football team from West Dillon will win. With Luke out of the season and Vince’s personal burdens with the death of a recent friend and his mother in rehab, the odds for a Lions victory is slim..very slim. Associated Press released two production stills for episode 13 “Thanksgiving” which features Jeremy as J.D. McCoy. The expressions in the images may say it all. That grin nevertheless like his fathers (Joe McCoy) could be sufficient evidence for a Panther victory, but we’ll just have to wait until Wednesday to find out. Be sure to watch Friday Night LIghts on DirecTV channel 101 at 9:00 PM (eastern time).
