How to build a mini longboard by cutting a trick skateboard deck?
I have a normal skateboard deck and I want to cut it down just a but to make a mini longboard. Does anyone know of a websitewith step-by-step instructions on how to do this? the shape of the board? etc.
I have access to a workshop so tools should not be a problem
This is commonly called a shlongboard. Search for it on silverfishlongboarding.com
There’s lots of information there.
Make sure it’s wheelbite free while cutting away as little as possible. Step by step it’s:
- marking new truck holes
- drilling the holes
-put your truck on there without top bushing and turn it until it hits the deck, mark the spot where it wheelbites
- draw a shape so it doesn’t wheelbite
- cut out the shape
- put a coat of clear paint on the sawed edges to protect them
- mount longboard trucks and wheels in your newly drilled truckholes
Then ride away…
