Sony Pictures among one of the distribution film companies will take part of this film as the DVD distributor for the PG aimed film, as stated in BME Entertainment’s press release for “Soul Surfer“.

Mandalay Independent Pictures and Brookwell/McNamara Entertainment presents Soul Surfer, a Sean McNamara Film, a Sony Pictures and Affirm Films Release, financed by Enticing Entertainment and Island Film Group. Scheduled for global release in August 2010, both in mainstream theaters and as a faith-based film, the PG aimed film will be distributed by Sony Pictures and Sony’s Affirm Films, which also has worldwide DVD and television rights. Emmy nominee Sean McNamara will direct from a screenplay by McNamara, Deborah Schwartz, Douglas Schwartz and Michael Berk based on the best-selling book Soul Surfer by Bethany Hamilton. The film is produced by Douglas Schwartz, David Brookwell, Sean McNamara and Dutch Hofstetter and executive produced by David Zelon, David Tice and Dominic Ianno.

With a large distribution and financially secure, this is sure to boost Jeremy’s ratings even though he is only co-starring in this film. There is a good possibility that this film will be released world wide and have the same if not more success as Bethany Hamilton’s other production does.
